Meen Pathiri Recipe: Kerala Fish Pancake

- Mackerel 0.5 kg
- Maida Flour 0.25 cup
- Chili Powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
- Onion 0.25 kg
- Green Chilies 3 nos
- Water 1 cup
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Cardamom 2 nos
- Coriander Leaves 2 tbsp
- Curry Leaves 1 tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Ghee 2 tbsp

Instructions
- Marinate the mackerel with chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Fry until fully cooked and set aside.
- Finely chop the onions and crush the garlic cloves for the masala.
- Sauté the chopped onions and crushed garlic until golden brown and fragrant.
- Add coriander leaves, curry leaves, fried fish, cardamom powder, and salt to the sautéed mixture. Mix well to create the flavorful masala filling.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together maida flour, water, and salt to make a smooth batter. Cook thin pancakes (palada) on a flat pan until lightly golden.
- Place a portion of the masala filling inside two paladas and carefully seal the edges together to form the pathiri.
- Heat ghee in a pan and shallow fry the pathiris on both sides until golden brown and crispy. Serve hot!
